Tarja Charcoal

okay, i know i said i would do a charcoal of her a long time ago, but i just got brave enough to actually attempt it.

this is a screen shot from the Nightwish DVD "From Wishes to Eternity." i thought she looked soooo pretty here and i had to draw it.

this is also the first completely free-hand pic i've done of her. all my others were made with grids and lots and lots of measuring.

some things are off, like there's something wrong with her nose, but i can't quite put my finger on it. and her eye gave me a lot of trouble. the pic was not very high resolution since it was a screen shot.

but, i'm pretty happy with it all in all. not bad for my first venture into charcoal portraits.
